G2 Powerstroke 6.0L
Don't know if anyone has posted this or not yet, but Truck Trend this month has quoted the power numbers for the new 6.0L Powerstroke.
6.0L
305hp @ 3600rpm
550lb-ft @ 2000rpm
7.3L
275hp @ 2600rpm
525lb-ft @ 1800rpm
Anyone know when the 6.0L will become available?
Matt

LAST EDITED ON 01-Oct-01 AT 01:11 AM (EST)[p]I thought that the 1/2 tons and expy's were going to get the 4.5L V6 diesel, or is that engine going to be going into the smaller ranger and explorer platform?
Edit - Looks like we need three different diesel engines to go into the Ranger platform, the 1/2 ton platform and the Superduty platform!

My appologies, I thought you were asking about the V6. The 6L comes out late in 02, in the superduty. I guess it's gonna be run beside the 7.3L til Navistar runs out.

Do you mean the 6L will be available in late 2002 (effectively 2003 model year trucks)or in the 2002 model year trucks (late availability)?
Just trying to wish their arrival sooner!
Matt
Edit - One other thing, I NEED me one of these engines, as the hp and torque peaks are so dang close to my ol' 351M that I will feel right at home!

I've **Heard** that the motor will come in on 2002.5 trucks. Bascially what the means is carry-over 02's, which will start being built in May?
