need oil advice

Run diesel rated oil in my gas truck also. The added detergents did clean out much gunk over time, and has stayed that way. Sounds better. Doesnt get as hot, cooling better under load and long idle on a hot day.

I had a similar situation with a 1995 F150 5.0. I have had the truck for 7 years and it only has 86,000 miles on it. The original owner drove it 40,000 miles and used Castrol GTX 10w30. I changed to Mobil 1 10w30 synthetic and Purolator Pureone filter and noticed it took 2 oil changes to get it "clean" inside. Like you I noticed the oil pressure "gauge" malfunctioning and after confirming the pressure with a mechanical gauge I replaced the oil switch and have had no more problems. I live in the metro Atlanta,GA area where it gets hot also.
