Trany Question

Hey everybody. My 00 X with 237,000 mi is starting to make me wonder. I put some gauges in this winter and today it reached 93* in Nebraska. I was watching the tranny and saw that the temp reached 200*. I am wanting to tow a 31 ft trailer this summer and am scared that the tranny won't be able to hold it. Should I add another tranny cooler and put synthetic fluids or what would you suggest. Thanks!

Tranny

I have an '00 v10 4x4 and tow a 40' 10,000lb boat trailer cross country. I have made the following mods to my transmission and it runs as kool as a cucumber under load....all this may be more than you bargain for, but here goes: a) Banks Transcommand (increases pressure and adjusts shifting...aids in cooler running); b) Factory Tech Valve Body....this is about a $200 mod that you can do yourself...after you drop the pan, the valve body unbolts and drops out; c) Mag Hytech oversized pan....holds another 4 quarts or so of trans oil and is made of alluminum fins; d) added B&M external trans cooler; and e) running Mobil 1 ATF.
