302 Stroker Motor

I see Ford makes a 302 Stroker (347 c.i.d). I'd like to replace the 302 in my '89 F-150 and with this motor and was wondering if anybody has done this. My question would be: Would the computer complain about the extra displacement? And if so, what mods would I have to make. Also, would there be any other modifications that I would have to make installation wise?

Thanks in advance.

You'll need to change over to the "Mass Air Sensor" conversion kit from Ford. For a manual trans use part # M-9000-T50 for the AOD auto trans use part # M-9000-T51. Either kit will set you back around $700. If you try running the stroker motor without replacing your EFI system the motor will run too lean. Deen

I've read several posts over the past few weeks that warn against putting a stroked 302 into your vehicle. The suggestion was to go for a 302 that is stroked less or dump a 351W in instead of the 347. I'll try to find some of the posts on other forums and post them here.
