I have an unmarked tube of turqoise grease I acquired some time (probably 10+ years) ago, so I wonder if anyone has any idea what type of grease it can be. I think the color may be a little odd for a grease.
I want to change my front wheel bearings in the not too distant future, BTW.
it is a marine grade prop shaft grease it contains no moly and little wear agents just go buy a tub of moly wheel bearing grease it is only 2.50 or less if not you may burn up your bearings and neing that it is 10 years old it has become oxidated and has little use if any so throw it away or put it on a shelf and look at it i just would not use it maybe give it to a chebbie guy
Rusty, you've got me sold on Mystic products I just bought some of their semi-synthetic grease to use when I run out of the Mobil stuff. Have you ever tried it?
I have used their semi-synthetic grease. Blue if I remember correctly. It seemed to work good, to be honest I can't tell the difference between one grease and another. The part either squeaks with no grease or doesn't squeak with grease.
I use their semi-synthetic grease on my snowblower. It's a tractor mounted snowblower, that goes on the front of my Kubota BX2230. I figure the semi-synthetic grease is probably better for winter. And for $2.30 per tube, why not?
For my summer stuff, lawn mowers and that, I use the Tetrimoly. Spinning blades with questionable balance in hot conditions could probably benefit from the added moly.
