A/C Leak in cab
A/C Leak in cab
All,
I have a '03 f-150 and this past weekend I noticed that the carpet was wet on the passenger side floor. I pulled the carpet back and dried up the water. There was no rain this weekend so it could not of been a water leak. I did use the A/C alot. Sunday evening I checked the carpet again and found that the carpet was wet again. I am almost positive that it is the A/C system. Has anyone else had this trouble? Is there a easy way to blow out the A/C water drain?

yea i had the same problem. turns out ford forgot to install the tube between the a/c drip pan and the firewall that lets all the condensation drip out of the a/c. the condensation just dripped on the floor. its a good thing i have the rubber floor in my truck. if you've had your truck for a while then either the tube has come loose or it is clogged. you can look on the firewall under the hood and try to unclog it. its a small pipe that sticks out on the bottom of the firewall on the passenger side. good luck.
You can probably just squeez it between your fingers a few times. I have not looked for the drain on my 2000 F150, but on older Ford trucks it looks somewhat like the rubber top on those bottles of glue we used in elementary school. Just squeeze it enough to open it, and "pump" the lint out of it. Hope that makes sense. When it is clear, the water will run out freely.
