Help!

I dont know whether to post this in the 80-86, inline 6, or lubrication boards. MODS please help me!

Anyway, I have an 84 F-150 2wd inline 6. It;s burning a lot of oil. About a 1/2 quart every 2 days. absolutely no sign of external leaks. This engine was SUPPOSEDLY rebuilt at 150,000 miles. It's not smoking out the tailpipe. Can yall help me?

Also, I hear some ticking noise, but I am not real familiar with engine noises and dont know if it's the lifters or or valves or whatever.

If it's not smoking out the tailpipe, how did you dertermine it's "burning" oil and not leaking? If you have a bad transmission vaccuum modulator, engine oil can be sucked in there; have you checked the tranny's fluid level? BTW, you can edit a post for up to an hour without typing a new one.

No, not on manuals. If you're losing 1/2 quart every 2 days with no external leaks, you should definitely be getting blue smoke out of the tailpipe!
