oil change question?
I bought my 6.0L dsl late Dec. and I only drove it on weekends as my work was within 2.0 miles from home. I didn't want to start up a cold motor and just go that short a distance every day, so I used my old clunker, thus only have 1000 miles on the truck now.
My question is because Ford states in the warranty book that oil should be changed at 5000 miles and or six months, would I have to change the oil next month with only maybe 1500 miles on the odo? This seems wasteful when an oil change is $90 at the dealer.
I am planning a cross country trip that will take me about 10000 miles or so and will be needing an oil change about half way,possiby in Wy. if I don't change it now. This would be in July most likely and I wonder if this would jeapordize my warranty? ANY COMMENTS, SUGGESTIONS?
