No 5th or Reverse
Hello
I'm posting for a friend without a computer... He has a 1989 F150 , 300 I6, 2wd, and he has no reverse or 5th gear. Any ideas what is fouled up andwhat needs to be addressed? Shift fork?Anyplace to get a schematic? I don't know if its a ZF or a Mazda..

Find out if its the M5OD or the ZF . Its possible since the M5OD uses the same detent ball and spring for 5Th & Reverse that the problem may be in the top cover where the detent ball and spring live ? Sometimes the ***** will bind up making it hard or impossible to shift to that gear .
