ABS Brakes

Does anyone have any ideas as to why a the ABS light stands in on a 1997

f-150?

Because the ABS computer has detected something that caused it to fail self-test.

You can download an owner's manual from www.fleet.ford.com if you don't have one. It also explains what all the other lights mean.

if the light is illuminated, follow what projectsho89 posted. if you are asking what the light is, it is for your trucks Antilock Brake System.
