lowering 70 sc

lowering 70 sc

My brother in law has a 63 ford that has been lowered with the I-beams and springs in the front.He is wanting to raise it back up.My question is will the drop beams and springs off his 63 work in my 70. I so he wants to swap me his lowereing stuff for my factory.

I didn't think the Twin "I" beam suspension came out until '65 or '66. A '63 would have had a straight axle I thought.

Red is correct, Twin I-beams were introduced in 65. First thing is to find out what the truck is under the sheetmetal. Someone could have built it on a newer chassis.

Now If it is Twins under there (from a newer chassis) they will swap. The I-beam mount is the same from 65 to 79.

thanks. When he bought the truck from a salvage yard he was told is was a 63.Since then he has been told it was a 64 65 66.If it has the twin I beam under it,I can use it right?

70 find the VIN on the passenger side frame rail, and post the number here. It is on top just ahead of where the front axle crosses under. You might have to do some sanding to find it but it is there.
