X-Plan price
#17
Ok did you see my post above asking for the prices on the two trucks?
Can I get the X plan price on these two trucks? Also I am not sure which I would like better. The captians chairs or the 40/20/40 split bench seat? Would the captains chairs still have a pretty good bit of room in the back?

explanation please?
Could someone please tell me what an x-plan is? How does one qualify for it? I have several other questions related to qualifying for the most discounts and best price dealerships but will save that for another post or would appreciate your thoughts here. Would be interested in speaking with someone directly if anyone would like.
Thanks, Tom.
Thanks, Tom.

There are a number of plans the manufactuers offer to their employees, retirees, and vendors. A/D/Z plans with Ford are for employees, dealership employees, and retirees. This is the same as "GMS" in the world of GM. In absolute terms of price, this is the killer deal. The "X" plan refers to suppliers and vendors, and is typically about 3% higher than the employee plans. Normally, you have to be an employee or immediate family member to qualify for any of these plans, but both ford and GM have been known to "extend" the qualifications for limited time periods on specific models.
Generally, if you qualify for one of the factory plans, you'd know it- it'd be part of your employee benefit package.

"Ford Partner Recognition (X-Plan) pricing is exclusive pricing established by Ford Motor Company. X-plan was developed by Ford Motor Company to reward the suppliers, fleet customers, colleges, organizations and business partners as well as friends and neighbors of US Ford Motor Company employees."

Ford X-Plan Rules:
Who's Eligible?
Customers are eligible for the X-Plan if they were identified and sponsored, by a Ford Motor Company employee or retiree, before visiting a dealership.
Who's Not?
• • Government employees and officials whose use of the Plan may be construed as influencing a public official.
• • Employees of Ford, Lincoln-Mercury, Jaguar, Mazda, Land Rover, or Volvo dealerships.
• • Anyone who has discussed a retail purchase of a vehicle, with a dealer, prior to applying for an X Plan.
Appropriate X-Plan Use
Employees and Retirees must consider the following before sponsoring an X-Plan purchase.
It is in direct violation of the program rules to provide PINs to a dealership employee or to customers referred to the Sponsor by a dealership employee. In addition, accepting money or gifts in connection with providing someone a PIN is strictly prohibited. Violations of these rules will result in suspension of A/Z and X-Plan eligibility and may result in termination of employment with the Company.
Sponsors are responsible for managing their PIN allocation and making sure the customers they sponsor follow the rules. If a customer fails to follow the rules (including titling and length of ownership requirements), the Sponsor's Plan eligibility is at risk. Therefore, if Sponsors cannot answer all of the following questions, as indicated, it is advised that they do not sponsor the customer:
• • Is the customer someone you feel you know and can trust? YES
• • Is this customer a dealership employee? NO
• • Did a dealership employee refer this customer to you? NO
• • Are you receiving or being offered cash or gifts to sponsor this customer? NO
• • Is this customer a government employee or official whose use of the Plan may be construed as influencing a public official? NO
• • Is this customer considering purchasing a competitor's product? YES
What Is Available?

• • Vehicles may be ordered from production or may be selected from the inventory of the dealership, if the dealer agrees. Dealers are not required to participate, but if they do, they must be an authorized Ford Motor Company dealer for the product sold and agree to abide by the New Vehicle Purchase Plan guidelines set forth in this document. (For example, Ford dealers may not sell Mercury products and recreational products must be purchased through a Ford or Lincoln-Mercury dealership, not a recreational dealer).
• • Optional equipment installed by the dealership and after-market services provided by the dealership are not covered under the New Vehicle Purchase Plan.
