I'm replacing the brake line for my rear brakes from the brake pressure differential valve to the junction on the rear axle. It all came off fine (with a lot WD-40 and elbow grease). The problem was in the connection to the brake pressure differential valve. When I removed the old fitting from the valve, the brake line was stuck inside it. I got Canadian tire to flare another fitting onto my new line.
When I tightened the fitting on, the new line still slid back and forth through the fitting, clearly not seated inside the differential. I didn't even bother putting any fluid into the system because I knew it would just spray out around that connection. Did I get the wrong fitting? Does it need a special flaring? Does it use some kind of sealant?
I suspect the answer is probably something blatantly obvious and someone's going to make me look like a fool, but thanks for the help anyways.
