94 XLT hub problem?

94 XLT hub problem?
About once a month I engage the 4x4. Since this last time, when I start the truck cold and shift into gear I am getting a click,click,click sound as I give it gas. Speed of clicking matches RPM of engine and not rotation of wheel. Tried going in/out of 4x4 and backing up to see if hubs were not disengaging. After a minute or two the sound disappears. Hmm.

Sounds like another auto hub problem, save yourself time and or money and switch too manuels. Also, I believe you have too drive backwards about 20 ft. or so too get the autos too unlock, that is if they will unlock, this is why I like manuels hubs, you know for sure there unlocked.
