Paint Code 35, 1983 F150

Paint Code 35, 1983 F150
Hello everybody, does anybody know what the name of the color for paint code 35 is? My truck was painted by the paint code about 3 years ago (before I bought it) and I cant find any touch up paint by that code. I think I might have to have a body shop mix a can of it for me. thanks in advance, Lewie -----¤ ‹°›« gone fishin'

1983 Paint code 35 is for Light Cadet Blue Metallic, but that color was not available then on F-series trucks as Piffery1 stated . The available "blue" truck colors in '83 were Blue Glow - an optional glamour color - (Glamour color on a Ford tough truck? get real!) Midnight Blue Metallic, and Bright Blue, which is actually a very pale blue.

The door tag is faded and partially painted over so I must have read the number wrong because it is a maroon or burgandy color. You can look in my gallery to see

The original '83 color was probably Ford Dark Red Metallic. Ford trucks also had a Candyapple Red in '83, but after all these years, that original paint would probably resemble '49 Mercury "salmon" by now, not burgandy.

My book only covers from 1980 and 1981, I'm affraid. It does list a red color called "Maroon" code 2L but that was dropped by 1983.
I also learned from my Friend from Ford, that the colors from around these years were very sporatic. That the shades of colors could vary drastic from light to dark for the same color code. "Which I've found out personally trying to touch up my 1981, trying to get paint to exactly match, is a joke.
