i have got a 96 f-150 4wd, the front looks like it needs alighnment, so i took it to thee ford dealership, they told me they would have to replace all the bushings on the passenger side and it was going to cost a good bit so i didn't get it done, my dad looked at it, he is a good mechanic but doesn't know alot about the newer models like this one, he said he didn't see any bushings, so now i feel like they were trying to screw me or they didn't know what they were doing, my ? is, Does my truck have any bushings in the front-end? it has manual hubs, and auto trans. in case you need to know.
I have been getting some good work done at my local Sears auto concerning front end alignment, let them have a look, might be free or cost you a few bucks. My Sears guys are good, (thx Fred@Neshaminy Mall)), but that is just one store.
it does have the IFS and i just need to know if it has bushings in it or not i don't want to take it nowhere until i find this out because i have already takin it to three diferent places and it seems a different problem every time, each person finds a diferent probem but none of them have found the same problem.
Sounds like they're talking about the "radius arm bushings" It can be quite a pita but with the right tools and time you can do it yourself. The easy way is drilling out the rivets then just replacing those with grade 8 bolts when your done.
