I need to know why my cruise control brings my van up to set speed & then backs off for about 2 mph & then brings it back up to set speed again. It never settles down. Anybody got any ideas?

Here are a few ideas with out looking in my manuals wich are not at home. Vacuum leaks in hoses supplying the system. Improper linkage adjustment ( too loose). Idle air control problems. Egr valve problems .

I neglected to include some specifics. '90 clb wgn, 302ci, aod. I hope i can get lucky with used parts from my buddies bone yard. I don't have a genuine ford crooze tester, so in order to test some of the components, i'll have swap them out. Thye info you have given me will be helpful. The egr was replaced about 800 mi. ago. So that can be eliminated since it's working to specs. Thanks For your hints. Vanman (DON)
