My diesel tech said that FMC has come out with a new flash.
He stated that it addresses idleing and shifting issues in the t/h.
Can anyone confirm this? He has not programmed any truck yet with
this flash so he cannot comment on the performance.

My 03 got the FUE (3U7A-12A650-FUE) reflash under threat from the DMV. Bye bye pilot injection, clipped the Tow Haul mode and is a little noiser at idle. But power and mileage did not suffer at all.
Hitecdan,
My pilot injection was long gone, as I had to have a flash when my truck was near new due to driveability issues, but after the 'FUE' flash, my Tow/Haul still functions normally... interesting.
if ur not having troubles with the truck, dont get a flash done. i had the newest one done and now my tuner box doesnt work, and i just got a predator and it doesnt work either, cuz it needs the new vrsion. no big deal, but its a pain, and now my truck starts harder and smokes more on startup. it now has a cold studder when on the throttle and the tow/haul is very unpredictable and doesnt shift very well.
if u like ur truck, leave it alone the flashes arent accesories, they're for fixing problems in problem trucks.
My 04 which was flashed middle of last year has 4U7A-BFA; I noticed when checking yesterday on motorcraftservice.com that there is a new flash that wasn't there last month. It is 4U7A-BFE. So I am now four flashes behind current. Mine is going in Monday for idle issues so maybe they'll flash it with the latest.
Bob, I'm on BFA as well - runs OK, but let me know your results. I've "heard" the newer ones reduce some of the EGR at idle, improved low-end and T/H. Having had to clean my EGR valve already, I'm all for reducing it (legally)
