Engine Noise
My 2000 F-150 with 84000 miles is making a slight "ticking" noise. Is this something to be concerned about? Thanks

I have seen that there is a known issue with some "port" size in one of the heads that doesn't allow for proper cooling. You can either live with it, replace the head, or there is a link somewhere in this forum about modding the head and adding a couple of tubes for better cooling. Mine has 86k and has been ticking for some time now. Very slight and can only hear it when in my garage. runs great though.

ANyone give more details?

Check the exhaust manifold studs, it could have a small exhaust leak.

I agree with LxMan1. Check the exhaust manifold studs on the pass. side rear.
Mine broke. (2000 5.4)
