I put a new fuel filter on my 72 390 about 3 months ago at the same time that I rebuilt the carb. It was just a garden variety filter from the parts store.
Yesterday, the carb starting flooding while I was sitting at a stop light. Gas was just pouring in. After a while it just stopped on its own.
My guess is that some crud was holding the float valve open.
Do you guys run anything more than the standard canister filter on the pump?
I'm considering buying one of the inline Edebrock filters. It has a 10 micron element, which is the best I've seen.
I run the big one on the pump as well as a cheap autozone inline filter. Holleys seem sensitive to small dirt particles compared to other carbs so I want to make sure its clean.
