Have you guys ever done any dealings on E-bay? A long time ago I tried bidding on an owners manual for my truck. Recently I've just put my rebuilt flathead V-8 carb on there. I rebuilt it before I found out how much it cost to rebuild a flathead V-8 so I went to a 302 and I'm really have with it. I've had no problems with it for being a junkyard engine.
I sell stuff on eBay all the time and also buy some stuff as well.I usually try to find parts that are mis-labeled to get the best deals.I am collecting parts to do a 460 swap into my 86 Mustang and I picked up a set of conversion headers for cheap as the seller had them listed as just 460 headers with no reference to Mustang and I just picked up a 850 dbl pumper carb that the seller listed as a 750.I find that if you want to sell anything for a decent price you need a good picture and a set shipping price as most of the buyers are from the U.S. and they think that shipping is too much from Canada and won't bid.I have shipped a couple of things to England and another to Iceland but mostly to the U.S..Good feedback is important as well, if you are just starting selling it might be worthwhile to buy some cheap stuff just to get some positive feedback.
I parted out a 1955 dodge 270 hemi a few years ago, I made $700US on it. I pick up quite a bit of stuff on ebay, and I use a paypal account. They offer buyer protection, so your covered if you end up with some clown. One word of caution when buying is a person who ships ups. UPS charges a brokerage fee when an item crosses the border, This charge is on top of the price and shipping that you already have paid, and it isnt cheap, I had a $45 set of connecting rods, and they added $35 to the price with there brokerage fee.
If the seller wont ship USPS, or fedex, I wont bid on it. Just to show how ups scr*ws us, the brokerage fee isnt charged untill items hit $200 when they go to the states, But it is charged once an item is over $35 coming to canada.
