wheel bearing?
i thought for sure that i totally shot my passenger side wheel bearing, and i heard that it just might need to be tightened can you actually tighten a wheel bearing without replacing it

thanks for the adivce. the other question i have is that if i just tighten the wheel bearing how well will that hold up when im 4 wheeling. and how much longer do you think i can get out of a tightened bearing before i have to replace it

How tight did you tighten it. The front wheel bearings should not be tightened very much. You tighten them 1/4 turn and then spin the tire then back off the nut till it is just snug. If they are tightened any more you will crush the outer shell. I believe the book says .001 end play for a 4x4. That is for a 92-94 F150, not sure what your truck is. But even for a 2wd they should only be tighten 1/4 turn past snug. Hope this helps. I'm not sure how long it can go tight if you did tighten it but when it lets loose you will have very sloppy steering and probally change lanes when you don't want to. Wheel bearings are not very expensive and pretty easy to replace. Good Luck
