I've haerd that if you reposition the TPS, you can gain performance and mileage. Has anyone done this, what do you need to do ,have the results been favorable ??

Haven't seen it on this forum, but a lot of the Mustang guy's will do it to the 5.0L HO. They do it to get a quicker throttle response for drag racing. They'll rotate the TPS to get 0.98 to 0.99 volts to ground, then the computer see's the 1.0 volt signal soon as the throttle is popped. As to gas mileage, I don't know about that. I've heard the claim, but usually the driving characteristics that go along with wanting a quicker response don't match up with those that would result in an improved gas mileage. If you're interested, let me know and I'll dig up a link to the way to do it for the 5.0L in a pony car.

Try that thread, I did this with my explorer, its a pretty easy mod but to tell the truth I didn,t really feel any changes... though my tps was pretty close to the correct readings.
