I just installed a set of Vic Jr heads on my 331 stroker. They made a very big difference in power over the World Roush 200 heads. They are a little soggy on the bottom end, but the motor pulls good until about 7000 rpm's.
I have found that there is such a thing as to much power. I pulled this motor and put it into a "fox" body LTD police interceptor. The motor was in my 68 F100 and it was a little too much for that truck. It is downright nasty in the LTD. The LTD had an AODE tranny in it and I converted it to a TKO 600 manual. If any one is considering this it is alot of work but well worth it.
The weak spot now is the stock 7.5 inch rearend with a 3.27 limited slip. I have been trying to break it but so far have been unsucsessful. I have so far have managed to roast the hides in the first four gears. A little fun and a little scary at the same time. When it finally does go I have a Moser 31 spline 8.8 to go in it's place with a 4.30 gear. It will be interesting to see what this does for my acceleration.
The car managed to put down 421 rwhp. It's a sleeper
