it's my father in law's van. he thinks it's a 305 engine.
it had a little puddle of transmission fluid under it. it looks to me like its coming from the power steering cuz there's fluid all over the top of the steering gearbox. he said the guy that works on his van had said the steering was low and had topped it off.
he topped up the power steering and i cleaned the mess around the gearbox as best i could and had him turn the wheel but i couldn't spot where it's leaking. the pump and the hoses all look ok and he said the steering is fine.
i was expecting it to start spraying out somewhere as he turned the wheel but i didn't see anything. all i can say for sure is everything is clean and looks OK except for all the fluid around the gearbox but i can't spot where it came from
guess what i want to know is if it's not spraying out anywhere is it possible the guy just over filled it and the way it's made it just leaks out somewhere?
watch the front shaft seal, had one a while back that was leaking there, took a while to find it was slinging it all over but wasn't easy to spot visually
