My new 300 engine will be installed in my 66 F-100 next week. Her first outing will be to the body shop for new paint. As I've searched through the vast information on these trucks I see some are two toned and others not. Is it just personal preference? Also as I will not be adding a/c I would like to change out the back window with a slider ... are these easy to find? btw, definite newbie and not very mechanically talented.
I have 2 66 F-100's with sliders, run with the slider and vents open you get good cool air without the wind. My 4x4 was a all white truck without chrome, and now is 2 tone with a painted on chrome stripe.
You can order the slider from several suppliers. My 64 has one and I like mine.I have seen different versions of two tone paint jobs so,pick one you like.
Thank you! It's all blue top to bottom with chrome (?) bumpers - they're just basic steel now. I've just seen many pictures with a white hood and anywhere from a white stripe to fully 1/3 of the side panels being white.
I want to restore it as true as possible. Thankfully dad attached the camper top with 'c' clamps so that can go away without a problem. Anyone want a camper top?
