2005 F-150.....

Probably been asked a million times, but anyway.....

I'm looking at a new F-150 regular cab, mid-level (STX or XLT), with the 4.6 liter...

Experiences?

I like the extra "1/2" cab mainly.....

How's the 4.6l? I've had the old 302 and the much newer Dodge 4.7l....and the 4.7l was a better motor for what I wanted. How do they compare?

Mileage with this style/motor?

Thanks...

I have a 05 F-150 XLT Reg cab with 4.6 L egine, and I love my truck. It handles and rides great. I really couldn't afford the supercrew, so decided to go with reg cab. I have no complaints on fuel economy, it gets decent gas mileage for a truck. It is by far the best handling and performing truck compared to the Silverado that I test drove.

I love my reg. cab xlt 4x4 3.55 gearing. The 4.6 is a proven motor and it moves this truck just fine. The only thing I tow is a pop up camper and you don't even know that it's back there. mpg is 17-18 with 40/60 city/highway driving and this truck seems to have a sweet spot at about 75 mph.
