I just got a 85 Ford F150 4wd 300 I-6. It gets fire and it gets gas. When trying to start it I can get it to turn over when it is choked but I can not keep it running. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to check or what I can do to get this running? I am new to the 300's and don't know much about them. It does have the stock feedback carb on it.

Sounds like a severe vacuum leak. Will it run if you give it alot of gas?

 

It didn't matter how much gas I gave it, it would not start. I had an extra 300 so I swapped out carbs and it is now running.
