Electric brakes question

I have a trailer w/ electric brakes on it. I plugged in the the big round plug on the bumper. Everything seems to work. Lights, directional signals, and brake lights. Do I need a brake controller to make these brakes work or does that just make them more effective?

Yes, you need the brake controller to make the brakes work. If you don't have an electric brake controller, then you don't have any electric brakes. ...Terry

I agree with Overkill, you need a controller.

I highly recommend the Prodigy by Tekonsha, and lots of other folks on this Forum will agree; it's $99.99 at http://www.rjays.com/Tekonsha/prodigy-01.htm

I agree with the Prodigy. Simple, easy to install and dependable.
