I know some people that would like to see that happen to their truck. That has got to look awesome! Hey, maybe you can get one of your friends to film it, then post it.

your carb is most likely the problem

I hadan 86 with the one barrel cab and a 300l6 t18 and 3.55's

But i had a shorter pipe on it too so it was easier to spot. i rebuilt my carb and it stopped all together

Check to see if your timing is off as well. Bad timing will absolutely cause a cool fireworks show.

i know my timing is ok. that the 1st thing i though. called my dad.. he told me to tap my barb lightly w/ a wrench or something. i was good to go for a good 3 miles then it started up again lol. I have a short tail pipe too... it got my attention when no 1 was around me in pitch black @aside from my head lights) i saw a flash o light from my passenger side. sure enough it was sweet but a bit startling.

btw jebadiah... what kind o gas mileage u get w/ ur stock 3.55's?

about 6 miles to the gallon. lol its not my Daily driver, its mostly driven mountain roads.

But i have gotten some VERY good gas miliage before keeping it around the 55 mph range.

And in about a week or two ill have that 460 in...and ill even be gettin worse, lol.

def near teh 20 mark maybe more.

The l6 can get good miliage if you work it right.

most of my miliage problem is that my foot NEVER gets off the floor. The pedal is pinned everwhere i go it seems like in my l6 if im road trippin it up i wil baby it around and at least double my miliage maybe even triple it. Just go slow, these old things werent made to race the rice rockets.

i like the 3.55's pretty well. It was my DD back in the day so they are pretty decent for driving around it. 3.08 are too high for any mountainous activity without low range asnd 4.10 are too low to run around on the freeway on.

true that man (dont mind spellin... just came back from friends wedding)... 4.10s help suck gas like a 460... 12 mpg @ 50-55 mph is horrid, @ least 4 a 300 anyway.
