lost oil pressure
Got a 74'ish 460 in a 77 F150 mud bogger. On the way home from last one oil gauge went to zero. There was no knocking,clattering etc. Drove the rest of the way home. I started it again cold and pressure was good until warm and same thing. Does this sound like sending unit or something worse? How could it be worse without noise? If worse how do I diagnose?

Sounds to me like your sender or gauge died. Engines make a lot of noise with no oil pressure. To check the gauge, turn the key on and take a jumper wire and ground the terminal on the oil pressure sender. The gauge should read full scale high. If it does, gauge and wire is good, change the sender. If no gauge movement then it is the wire or the gauge or you lost power to the gauge.
