Oil Pressure Problems

Hi everyone,

I have an 86 F150 4x4 with a 302 V8. I was wondering if anyone can give me any help with this problem. I recently had a new rear main seal and intake manifold gasket installed, before I took the truck in I had great oil pressure always up around the middle of the stock guage. After I got the truck back I had no more leaks but after the truck gets warmed up my oil pressure drops down below the L at idle but comes back up as ssoon as I start driving again. Any help with this problem would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks a bunch,

Fordforever

I'm not sure it is a problem. The stock guages aren't known for their accuracy BUT even good after market quages will read a lower oil pressure at idle than while driving. Look at it as a good thing, at least it's reading greater pressure when you're driving! If you want to be sure you have lots of pressure get a tech to test it with a proper quage.
