Hi,I have a 2000 F-150 XLT 4.3 6 cyl. 5 speed. I want to install a "momentary" switch on the wires that go to the safety switch in the clutch, I see 4 wires there, witch 2 are the ones for the starter?, 'cause I understand the other 2 are for the cruise control. Thanks for your help.Ps: Also can I interupt the inertia switch wires and install a kill switch there?.
Jorge ,
Its best to consult a wiring diagram before you go cutting and splicing . Since the Inertia Switch is the last stop on the electrical train to the fuel pump and its only 2 wires , that may be the better location to install your kill switch . Just remember that if you short anything out warranty is not going to cover the damage . Make sure you use proper connectors and a quality switch otherwise you may end up keeping yourself from starting the engine .

I installed one on my 96. My wire is red with a light blue stripe. Yours may be different. You can get a Haynes manual if they are available for about $13.00 to be sure. The "DOT" intermitten switch from Radio Shack cost me $1.59 and is easy to hide. I left two bare spots on the wire. I carry a 6" wire with aligator clips in the glove box. If I have to leave it with a shop or someone else? I just jump the wire to bypass the switch.
