Draining Torque Converter

All;

How do you drain the torque converter on a C-6? Have dropped the pan, replaced filter etc. but this only changes 3 qts of ATF, I would like to change it all as it appears slightly burned. What do you think of the extra capacity trans pans? The drain plug looks like a good idea (why didn't Ford do it to begin with?) and the extra 2 qts of ATF seems like it might keep it cooler.

Thanks, Paul

To drain the converter, remove the inspection plate towards the bottom-front of the bellhousing. Look for a drainplug sticking through the flywheel. If you don't see it rotate the engine by hand until it shows itself. As for keeping the tranny cool, get the biggest cooler that you can fit in front of your radiator. Its much better then just adding some more fluid.
Good Luck
