Just keep an eye on your fluid level in the master cylinder while you bleed it out. The only troubles I've ever heard of occur when folks do it with the key on. Since I assume you don't have a hoist, I suppose this won't be a concern for you.
When I finish up bleeding brakes, I always step on the pedal a few times nice and slow and top off the master cylinder before finally turning that key on. That also gives me a chance to make sure there isn't any air left in there.
The reason to keep the key off is that the ABS system is not active when the key is off.
