Vin # Decoding

I know im not in the right spot but I did a search and can't seem to find vin # decoding.it's a 1974 F-250 with the vin# F10GCD01479.The truck is 150 mile's from me,and I want to know what it is before I do the drive.I might buy it.Thank's with any help.Sincerly

you can go here to decode your info....you need the door tag for more info though...

this is what you get with just the VIN#...

Model Year: 76
Series: F100 - 4x2 Pickup
Engine: 8 Cyl, 302ci (5.0L) 2bbl
Assembly Plant: Ontario Truck

It was a Colorodo Forest Ranger truck and it has a tag under the vin# with the #36598COLO.

Looks to me like DSO Code 36 ( ? Denver)

Special order #598 for the state government.

or it is a general Government order number 36598

in which the government DSO code on the plate should read 83

Okay.thank's for the help.Now I know it was something someone swaped cab's on becouse it's registerd as a 74 Ford P/U,and it's 3/4 ton 4x4.Thank's fpr the help guy's,and sorry for posting in wrong spot.Sincerly..
