I have a rebuilt 390 that seems to be getting less oil on the passenger side rockers than what it gets on the drivers side, I know that I have the rocker assembly in correct and and the tapered bolt in the right hole, I have checked the assembly for blockage and it is clean, oil on the drivers side will spray all over when covers are off and on the passenger side it hardly sprays. do i have a problem somewhere or is this normal.
Wow, I must have asked the stupid question of the day? not one response, funny how a guy that cant type or use proper grammer, or even ask a legitimate question can get 20 responses, (see post that says ""how much horsepower have i got"') And I cant get one. OH well, I'll figure it out on my own.
hey jethro, I'm sure alot of people would like to help if they had an answer, I can't think of a reason for this strange oiling problem so I can't help you, but I'm still thinking about it
If the right side isn't noisy I wouldn't worry about it. The right side gets fed oil after the left. Maybe the left is so loose and it's wasting oil pressure, so the right gets less.
Well JB, I think you asked one of those "technical" questions that warrants the discussion from the Guru guys. I'll toss in my $.02's now for you. Did you put any oil restrictor in the head of the driver or left side? If so, this should allow more to flow to the back journal where the right or passenger side feed from. One other thought I would have is that possibly one of the bearing oil holes is not lined up correctly. The rockers get fed from the crank and cam journals. If there is a deflected oil hole, then that would limit oiling. Now I put this down and await any corrections from the gang.
