Broken Shock
1999 Ranger 2x4, ext cab, 3.0 ff, 67,000 mi.
Bought 4 Monroe Sensamatic shocks since one original was dripping oil on garage floor. Jacked up, pulled wheels, noticed a short, black rod not in the empty hole above it . I knew this was very bad. Pulled rods from both sides and went back to Advance Auto Parts where I learned they were called
"sway bar links". Surprised to find they carried them and I didn't have to go to Ford. Slapped them in and even got new shocks on front. Rears will have to wait till next week. Since broken link was on same side as broken shock, I want to know if one caused the other.
