Ok, my situation is that I was putting a new stall convertor onto my engine (351C). I guess something was binding as I was trying to hook the transmission on and I managed to break my bell housing. It broke right below the middle bolt and split all the way around, so essentially the top of the bell housing broke off. It is my understanding that I can just switch the guts of my trans. into another case? If this is possible, how much work would be involved?
How much is involved depends greatly on your ability.
No being a smart *** but some people will take forever to do the task while for others it is a few hours.
Everything has to come out of the broken one and put in the new one.
Plus you had better have a look at the pump gears while you have it out.
That much pressure to break a case has to have a detrimental affect on the pump.
