need some help

i got and 1981 ford f-100 300 inline six carb...my truck is missing realy bad and i just put some new spark plugs in and i pulled each spark plug wire off and see if it would do anything and one of them aint firein.. wut could this be

check for a loose carb,
check the manifold bolts for tightness
check all the vacuum lines,
cracked dist check cap/bad rotor
look for old/cracked bad plug wires?

look for the simple stuff first
