Another new guy question

Sorry, forgot this one. My front tank came with no fuel in it. I put in about 5 gallons. Truck runs fine but guage shows way past full. What gives?

From the sounds of it, you need to check the wires on the gauges. On the tank sending unit, check the connections. If they are corroded, they will not read correctly. Same with the temp and oil gauge. To test the oil gauge, pull the wire off the gauge (usually located at the back of the block) and put a nail or small screwdriver in the end. Ground the wire and turn on the ignition (don't have to start). This should peg the gauge. If not, then the gauge is bad. If it does, clean the connection.
