It seems when ever I hit 65 and over my truck starts shaking violently ,I'm guessing its the bushing I looked at them the other day and there shot rbber is just squeezed so badly that its just cracking lose Im guessing thats what he problem is I was just woundering on how much it would cost me to buy new bushings I dont want to take it to a mechanic cause I don't feel like spending alot of money on it any info would be nice thank you
Check the simple stuff first. Generally a bushing will not cause violent vibration at highway speeds. It's most likely to be your tires, either they are out of balance - or may may have one that is seperating, you can't usually see a seperated tire until it fully seperates. You will be driving and all of the sudden the shaking will get REAL bad and noisy, then it will go quiet and the truck will ride smoothly. Your tread just flew off, and hopefully it didn't dfamave the body on its way out.
The tires might be out of balance but I can't see them seperating (Not physclly) but mentaly only reason is I bearly put 2500 miles on them I had bought brand new tires and rims abou 4-5 moths ago althouh it might just be therims its self there 16 inch rims looks like they belonged on a later model truck of ford Im not sure Im gonna take it down to the shop and have them balance aliegn and rotate my tires see if that does anything but I'm still going to need to replace the bushing because these things are shot but thank you Jbronco for the info much appriciated
P.S. the link below will take you to pictures of my truck the new rims are show in there you can check them out if you want
Exactly what "bushing" are we talking about here? The reason I ask is because if your talking about a shake/vibration I would have to its wheel balance related. Your RA bushings could be worn but they HAVE to be changed in pairs and you HAVE to have the TTB aligned after the install.
Since you just had the tires/wheels installed a short while ago, it could be you threw off a wheel weight......90% of the time when you can drive into/out of a vibration its wheel balance related. I would also check the entire rear drive shaft......I had a bad shake @ 70MPH on one of my Broncos......not a vibration....a SHAKE, and I looked all over at wheels and balance and things.......but I didn't find the problem until I looked close at my rear drive shaft. After replacing all the U-joints and then taking it to the drive shaft shop and having it balanced......and then snugging up the crush sleeve in the rear.....the old girl (had like 220K miles on her by then) was smooth as silk!
