different cab

Im going to a junk yard tomorrow to look at cabs to replace the rusted out one on my 83 f100.
the guys says he has about 10 cabs rangeing from 78 to 98, what year of cab will fit onit? I heard anything from 80 to 96 are same. is that true?
Also what is the most I should pay for
80-85?
85-90?
90-95?

Thanks for the help

I have never priced a cab for a Ford before, but as to what will fit, anything from 80-96 is correct. The cab is almost exactly the same on all those years, with just a few little differences. If you are just replacing the cab, you should be fine, however, if you are changing the entire front clip (fenders, hood, etc) make sure you get everything. The hood and fenders from a 94 will fit an 82 cab, but you will need the radiator support and grill and everything else to finish it. If you get an entire front clip from any year (80-96), it should fit any cab (80-96).
