Loud squeak= ball joints?
Sorry guys im kinda a newb, my dad has a 1993 F150 and every time he turns theres this loud squeak, is this the ball joints. I saw the post on how to replace them but I dont know if thats whats wrong. Also his 4x4 selcet is mounted on the floor, and it is harder than heck to pull into 4x4. Now is that just normal, I mean I know you gotta push it left then back.....but anyways any help would be good thanks

Ball joints generally won't squeak. To check them, jack up each side of the truck and grab a hold of the tire at 12 o'clock and 6. Try to move the tire. If it moves even a little, you probably need ball joints. Then grab it at 9 and 3 and move it. If it moves again, you may need bearings or maybe tie rod ends.

could even be the rubbers in the sway bar - mine squeaked everytime i drove thru a dip in the road or turned corners fast enough that it loaded up the front suspension.. generally if it's wheel bearings the will growl around corners . at any rate grease the front end up anyway and see if that cures anything and have someone bounce the front of truck while your underneath ( with e-brake on and block the rear wheels) you probably will find it .
