5" Exhaust question

5" Exhaust question
I want a 5" exhaust on my Powerstroke and i only want it for the sound, I know all the performance stats. I have searched high and low for the best price and 400.00 shipped is about it. The only response i got was " we do not carry a 5" system". I was thinking of just adapting from the downpipe to a piece of 5" pipe and run it to the rear axle. The problem is staying with 5" over the axle and exiting the same place the factory exhaust does. ANyone done this? Over the axle and out is the only problem I see, surely someone has done this, maybe a couple of 45's, an S pipe or something?I can get everything to make 5" to the axle for about 150 bucks shipped, and then a combination of 45's or whatever willl only drive the price up to about 225.00 at the most, If I just knew what I needed to go over the axle. If anyone knows it would be a great help, Just trying to save a few bucks here. With todays fuel prices I need to save every penny i can.!!!!!

I'm running a Hypermax 5" on my 350 dually, looking at the bends & twists as it goes over the axel, it's going to take a lot of cutting and welding to fab your system. As for fuel milage, it didn't help a bit

i beleive www.shopdiesel.com has a full 5 inch system, its their own brand of exhaust with a 4 inch downpipe and 5 inch all the way out to the stock exhaust exit. Its a complete alumized system with choice of muffler, or muffler replacement pipe. Also you can just buy certain parts of the exhaust too, such as the overaxle tail pipe peice.
