I have a 1995 ford bronco 5.8L and i was driving around for a little when my overdrive light started to blink. I pulled up to a set of lights. When the light turned green i began accelerating and the rpms rose to about 4 thousand rpms and then shifted very hard into second all the way to about 3rd gear. Heading onto the highway the truck wouldnt shift out of 3rd gear (RPMS were high)
when i got home later i let the truck sit for a while. When i started it up later the overdrive light was off and the transmission shifted real smooth. Then the process happens all over again. Does anyone know what causes this or what i can do to fix this? All the help is greatly appreciated!

I just got my trucks codes scanned at Aamco transmission and they found that a faulty code. I think the code was a 400 number or something. Anyhow the code that came up was for the vehicle speed sensor. Should i replace the sensor and not bother?
