mass air conversion
I was just wondering where you can get a mass air conversion kit for a 89
F-150 4x4 5.0 manual transmission. And how much they cost. this is somthing i want but money is always an issue with gas prices nowadays.
Thanks
Bigern
Find a MAF car in the junkyard, and slice the harness back carefully with a knife all the way to the EEC connector on the firewall, then remove the EEC connector, take it apart, and pop out the MAF pins, and unravel the wires to the MAF. Then take the wiring home, most yards will either give it to you or charge you something nominal like $5-$10 depending what else you're taking with you. Then buy the correct MAF from rockauto.com or similar, and you're MAF conversion is under $100.
You'll also need a computer and the injector harness, if you want to run sequantial rather than batch injection (A9P, A9L, etc)
If you opt to leave the old injector harness in place (which is why they call the new harness an overlay) It wouldn't be terribly hard to switch back.
I personally didn't want to try and figure out the correct wiring. It wasn't beyond my skill level to do it piece meal but I'm getting lazy these days and could afford the kit.
