Changed my waterpump last night, noticed the gasket on my water return was broken. With the intent of changing it today after work, I left it. Going to work today everything was fine until 20 minutes into the drive when the temp gauge shot up. Pulled over and coolant was flying out of the water return. Waited for it to cool down, put some gasket sealant on the hole and filled the radiator with water. Started her up, drove 10 feet and she died on me. Noticed the selenoid was not sounding right... Got a ride home, bought the necessary parts, changed the selenoid and water return but she still wont start. What is the problem here??? Please help

Hey mcdev, does it turn over? or turns over, but want start? If it turns over, your distributor might of got wet. If it want turn over, check your battery cables for corrosion or, like you said, you're solinoid could of shorted out maybe. Just some thoughts, hope i helped. Rob
She wont turn over, but the new selenoid clicks... Opened the distributor, it was wet but I dried it out. Guy at NAPA said it may be a dead battery, but i have had it for about 8 months and not had one single problem with it. Help me out here fellas, I really need to get this thing running...

I have noticed that battery terminals sometimes don't look corroded but form a type of oily substance between the posts and the terminals.
This lets enough power go through to power the
lghts and other acc. Try getting a terminal brush
to clean the posts and terminals. Hope it helps
Try spraying down the Distributor and wires with WD-40.
I used to have a Non-Ford van that would die after hitting deep water and it usually took only a few shots of spray to get me going again.
