Starter Questions/Issues

I am having trouble getting my starter to kick over. it seems i am geting power to the sylinoid but for some reason i am only getting juice to half the terminals on it and there is no juice running down to the starter.
Basicly turn the key no juice it is like the battery is dead but is has a charge.
i even wire brushed all the places i thought might help ground it but no luck. why dont i get power i wonder?I have power and get a clicking sound when i turn the key on and off i just dont get no Starter function... What am i missing i wonder...
Both the Battery and Starter Are brand new too...

If you are not getting current to the large terminal that is connected to the starter
I would think the solenoid is bad. I would guess your using a test light or voltmeter
to check what you said you have. Make sure the connections are clean, and the
solenoid is tight on it's mounting.

Put your testlight on #1 and #2 in the diagram above. While you are doing this, have someone try to crank the engine. The light should stay bright if the battery is good.

Leave one side of the testlight on #2, and move the other lead to #3. Try to crank the engine. If the light goes out, then positive battery cable is bad.

If it stays bright, stay on #2, but move the other testlead to #6. Try to crank the engine. If the light is out, and does not come on, is the relay clicking? If the relay is clicking, but the light is not on at #6, then the relay is bad.

If the relay clicks, and the light comes on, but it will not crank, then you might have a bad ground or a problem at connection #7.

If the relay is not clicking, then keep the other lead on #2, and move the remaining testlight lead to #5. Try to crank the engine. If the light lights on #5, but no click, then the relay is bad. If you get no light on #5, then your neutral safety switch may be bad or the ignition switch may be bad.
