disconnected the wastegate....

the best free mod yet... i was about 17 psi now i am running at 22.. how many horses do you think it is..??

It's not about horsepower...disconnecting the wastegate normally only makes about 3-12 additional ponies. What you are feeling is the engine now using the power that was already there because you are no longer bleeding off drive pressure at anything above 5 psi.

Cool ain't it.

my truck (early 99) really didn't make more than 3 extra lbs max boost.
15 before -- 18 after. and thats towing about 7k lbs.

I also noticed about maybe 2-3 extra lbs boost in the midrange, and a hair less smoke when truck downshifts out of OD.

Alright, my curiousities are perked, where can I find info on how to perform this mod? Always looking for a good FREE mod to increase performance.
